This study is intended to provide guidance to the exploration and production companies to allow greater reuse of frac flowback. Due to the proprietary nature of the chemicals used to prepare frac fluids, the study will not propose specific solutions. The study will identify the constituents of frac flowback which can impact the function of the chemical additives used in fraccing operations. A methodology to determine if the constituents will interfere with the function of the additives and to identify alternative ingredients will be developed.
