The objectives of this project are to perform long-duration (minimum of 24 hrs), continuous point-source measurements of a statistically representative sample of tanks to quantify methane flux and characterize transient emissions. Statistical analysis of acquired tank vent data will permit comparison to “rule of thumb” methods across a range of site types. Analyzed results will be used to recommend improved approaches for estimating methane emissions from uncontrolled tanks.
