Aerial Emissions Detection and Mapping

The objective of this project is to test and validate the practical application of UAVs for gas detection and mapping for the oil and gas sector. The results of the project will be compiled in a final technical report. In addition, a white paper summarizing the findings of the project will be developed and made available for public release.
It is anticipated that this capability will develop new methods to safely and cost-effectively detect and map fugitive gas concentrations. The ability to effectively identify leaks and assess safety issues in real-time, will result in decreased costs for industry, improved environmental performance and increased safety for workers and the general public.
